Hi IM's,
I am looking for recommendations for an ObGyn in Perth. I live in regional WA and have suffered two miscarriages in the past 12 months. I have been told that I have to have a third miscarriage before the public health system will begin to investigate. For obvious reasons the thought of enduring a third loss before anyone will try to help us is devastating. I would prefer to fly to Perth and pay to see a specialist now than wait for another loss. Can anyone recommend a great ObGyn in Perth that might specialist in multiple miscarriages and actually be able to help us :( If we are going to spend a fortune on flights I would rather see someone that has been recommended than do a google search. Thanks IM's xo

My friend saw doctor Nichols at St. John of God Murdoch. She had a miscarriage and was worried so he helped with the fertility stuff before she got pregnant. She said he had a weird bedside manner.
My obstetrician at St. John of God Murdoch is dr Anna Holmes and she's pretty good. I didn't go for fertility issues but a good friend of mine was on IVF and had her as her obstetrician. She's really down to earth.
Try googling "fertility specialist," first as many wonderful and experience specialists are also not Obstetrician's, but will graduate you to one once they help you get pregnant. I cannot believe GP'S and other doctors tell women to "wait a year" or "suffer X amount of losses", before referring them to seek specialised help. My recommendation is push for referral, push for support. Some conditions need immediate intervention; like me, I have untraditional PCOS, endo, fibroids and have lost an ovary due to torsion and pregnancy loss. My fertility specialist said to me if I had of accepted the "wait a year" (like recommended) I wouldn't be where I am now...19 weeks pregnant. Waiting a year would have done nothing for me, as I wasn't actually ovulating on my own due to pcos. You could also have something simple you need assistance with like taking progesterone tablets for the first 3 months to maintain your pregnancy. Push for a referral from a GP, don't give up.
