Push the cost right up next to the bed to start off with
So it's might depend a little bit on ur little ones personality! My first was easier to go in a cot around 10 months I just started putting him down sleepy and sat with him until he was asleep ! He had a bottle too and I would get him to drink it in the cot and lay down , played some soft music and stayed by his side and we started with half the night in the cot and gradually built up to the full night , this took a few months but we stayed patient and he transferred really easily ! My second was a lot harder ! He really just hated the cot !! So we ended up putting at mattress on the floor and laying with him til he was asleep ... he was breast fed so it was a matter of trying to wean at the same time ! We really pushed him to transfer as by that time he was 18months and I was pregnant with our third . We eventually moved the mattress up onto a bed base with a side barrier and he was fine :)
And miss #3 ... well she's now 18months and still In our bed haha she hates the cot too so I'll probably try the laying down on a mattress on the floor soon (this is mostly for safety and also to help them feel secure in getting on and off the bed themselves ) she's been even harder to wean from breast feeding but to be honest I'm not in a rush as she's our last ;)
I think I
Matter how u do it do it gently and with love . Be prepared that it might be a. It of a process and that there might be a few disrupted nights as she tries to adjust . But also be prepared to think outside the box . A cot is not the only answer !! Another idea as a transition might be one if those side sleepers the ones that are like a cot but one side is missing and it is up against your bed so u get them to sleep and they have their own space !?
