Making money work when you're a SAHM

How do you make being SAHM work? I'm desperate to quite my full time job and be at home with my little ones but after sitting down with hubby to go over finances it now seems impossible! Our minimum monthly obligations come to around 4300 per month (mortgage, utilities, rates, insurances etc) and that doesn't include groceries or petrol. When we factor in all the other incidentals we are looking at least another 4000 and my husband brings in just over 4500 per month. We are not wealthy and we don't have fancy things or go on holidays so I am curious as to how others can do it??? I don't want to work anymore - I've always worked full time but now I want to be with my babies and feel like I'm trapped by money!

As a single mum I lived off that. It was tight and I obviously only had one income but I was renting not paying a mortgage. No Foxtel, no internet and only cheap mobile. Went out rarely . I suppose it's a choice, do you want to own a home?

My expenses were 300 a week rent + electricity bill + $100 week older child preschool and hobby $150 week food and household including nappies and formula. No internet, insurance, car loan etc and it worked out fine while i wanted it to but i did look forward to starting work and getting back to real life too with buying when i want and setting and achieving bigger goals.

With that budget, there's no way you can quit work. Radically down size your life or keep working are your only options. Ironing, cleaning, night fill, the usual suspects won't cut it for you in your current situation.

I truly don't understand how any one could need that much money to live on a monthly basis! I think you need to take a serious look at your expenses and work out where you can cut back. It comes down to what choices you make. Other people make it work because they prioritise and work out what they want and compromise in order to get it.

I add roughly $1200 to my families monthly budget by selling used panties and doing "fetish videos". My face is never shown and I hardly need to get naked. This is an exteme I know , but even selling panties could add up to $500 to your monthly budget.

Or you know. Sell avon. Spend hours upon hours advertising and trying to get a sale worth $10. :p

I also do cam shows part time which makes me about $30ph. Just an idea. Judge if you like but I love it and I set my own hours. Could be doing worse lol.
