Family holiday or house deposit?

Family holiday or house deposit?

Im in a bit of a pickle ladies.

Me and my husband were hoping to take the kids on a week holiday to singapore and then cruise back to sydney in 2018 all up being close to 3 weeks overseas. Now all up including spending would probably be around 10 grand at most. The kids would be 7 and 6 at the time (oldest actually having their bday on the cruise)

At the same time we are also slowly saving for a house deposit. Now by this time we would probably have around 20k if not more saved up.
My question is would you for go the holiday to buy a home or go and buy later? Obviously this would be the only big holiday for a fair while especially since we would buy a home not long after and if we bought a house first who knows if we ever could afford to do the holiday.
I just can't make up my mind on what to do.

EDIT. We have already done two cruises around pacific islands etc so want to do one different. And the kids keep hounding us when will we go on another haha.
I think i already know my answer which is to do the holiday as i said we dont know after buying a home if we would ever be able to afford it.

Buy the home, I'd be going for a smaller, cheaper, local holiday if it meant I got to buy a home sooner.

House deposit for sure!
Keep that holiday for when they're older and can appreciate it more.
7 and 6 year olds will forget it pretty quickly.

Have a holiday. Book it earliee though. Next year. Youll spend whatever you have one year is enough and then buy a home.

House for sure if it's a priority for you.

I'd prefer the security of owning your own home than a holiday any day! Book a family cruise for the south pacific islands which would only cost you 2k-3k max. Best of both worlds ; )

I would do a cheaper holiday & house deposit. Holidays are great, but owing a home is financial security. There's heaps of cheaper cruises you can do which are just as fun (we did one not long ago, 7 nights for 4 & was just over 2k plus spending money)
