I'm planning on leaving an emotionally abusive partner. We have 2 school age children. The house we own is all in his name (family passed onto him). I earn about $1500 per fortnight after tax. He earns much less.
Does anyone know if I'd be able to access any rental assistance or other funds as a single parent? I have looked on Centrelink website but find it very confusing.
Rental assistance?

Yes you will be entitled to rent assistance which will be paid with your FTB. It isn't much though, less than $200/f. You should be entitled to maximum FTB A and FTB B. I doubt you will be entitled to parenting payment if you are earning 1500/f.
I pay $700 a fortnight on rent and get $1500 a fortnight. I survive and still have Internet and insurance on my home and car. You should be entitled to rent assistance but it's only about $140 a fortnight.
Is that work income?
If on centrelink, All centrelink payments decrease when he pays childsupport. I am a single parent on single parent payments, 2 kids and I receive $79-$84 fortnight for rent assistance and get $1170 fortnight benefit payments ($620 of which goes towards rent)
Have you got free legal advice yet? Please do asap if not. Community legal centre or state legal aid. You are likely to be entitled to significant portion of the property and then child support if he earns. Big factors in the calculation of your income.
