Just wondering if any other mums have had a c-section and then gone on to have a successful vbac. Currently expecting my second baby and would really like it if i was able to have a vbac. I had my emergency c-section 4 years ago and my scar healed wonderfully and had no issues, the c-section was due to fetal distress, which hopefully isnt something thats likely to happen again. If anyone has any success stories or if tried for vbac, that would be lovely to hear

My mum had a vaginal after a c-section. It was only 18mths between (and over 40 years ago) so Drs were a little more cautious but all went fine.
My sister had vaginal after c-section 10 years ago (3 years gap) no problems at all.
My other sister had to have 2 planned c-sections because her pelvis is far too small for a babies to go through, approximately 4 centimetre gap for a baby to squish through.
So unless you have some kind of deformity there (like my teeny tiny sister) there is no reason to this kyou couldn't have a vaginal birth.
I tried vbac after my first c section but it ended in another emergency csecrion. My only advice would be is to be open minded when you go in. Have a plan but also be open to the fact it may go pear shaped very quick. In my case 3yrs between and scar seemed to have healed till i was in labour and the scar started to tear from the inside out. All the best
Hi yes I've had a successful vbac 6 years after my daughters csec which was also a precipitous (very fast) labor 1 hour 26 mins from first twinge to delivery no complications was a wonderful experience and I'm 39+6 weeks pregnant now and going for another vbac even with the risk of another quick labor my advice is trust your body and health providers don't freak out when labor hits stress will make your baby stress out :)
I've had two very successful vbac. My first vbac was 18 months after my cesarean and it was a quick smooth labor and my second vbac was this October I was induced and labored for 7 hours and it was great. It all comes down to how supportive of vbacs your doctors and midwives are. There is Facebook pages you can join I think one is called Australian VBAC Support Group. Good luck I hope you get your vbac it's a amazing feeling.
