How do I stop my 2.5 year old calling his nana Mum.
We (my son n I) live at my mums house, he used to call her NANA but has stopped that and now calls her MUM.
He calls me "A MUM" (he puts the "A" sound in front of 90% of his words)
He knows I'm mum but he points, cuddles, runs to his nana and says MUM to her aswell.
Im not upset by this but I want him to call her nana from everyone's sake.
When I talk to her infront of him I always call her NANA to help encourage him, whenever he calls her mum she corrects him and says "No, I'm nana and thats (points to me) is mum"
Any other ideas apart from encouragement and to be persistent?

My daughter is around the same age and calls her dad by his first name, she has only recently started calling him daddy and is calling him by his actual name less and less. Just keep being persistent in referring to your mum as nana in front of him, he will grow out of it
Do you call your mum "mum". Change to both of you calling her nana and it might fix it.
No advice. But my 3.5 year old has called his dad by his first name since he could talk!!! No matter how many times we correct him he keeps going back to his first name ?
