Tics

Tics

My son suffers from tics. They come and go and can be different every time. He has started on new medication and we hadn't seen any tics for about a month, until the past week. It's a snort, he snorts every 2 secs. I feel like the worst mum, but I CAN NOT deal with the noise, it drives me insane. I'm one of those people that the way someone eats gets me wild haha. I have to remove myself from the situation as I get so upset with the noise, I know he can't help it but I can't help but get upset over it. How can I go about this? I feel so bad, never do I get up him for it as I know he can't help it. Sometimes I ask him if he knows what he is doing etc to try and get a break of it but that doesn't get us anywhere.

Anyone else in this sort of situation? And how do you deal?

When my son does things that annoy me (he has true OCD and the rituals can be infuriating) I take a big breath, accept it, but I find an outlet for burning off steam and getting out my annoyance. Usually something like heading to the boxing gym works. You could also put some headphones on to give yourself some respite.
This Tic will pass, just like the others did. Just like sons rituals will disappear and eventually be replaced by a new one.

I was hypnotised a few weeks ago.

My hubby is Adult ADHD some of the idiotic things drive me spare.

I started seeing a psychiatrist to help me deal with his behaviour without treating him like a child.

Unbelievably it works.
I am not irriated at all. His thing is to walk past me and dry hump me constantly. It doesn't bother me and because he isn't getting attention he is not doing it. It used to cause many an argument.

She did rapid eye therapy, and hypnotisim. Both worked but hypnotisim worked the best

My daughter has aspergers and she coughs.. when she's bored, when she's nervous, when she has to do something closely with you..

I'm the same. I cannot for the life of me handle it. Everyone around her hates it and it drives everyone nuts, but I swear it makes me want to shoot myself in the head! She doesn't sleep properly so she often does it all night long..

It's now been going on about 3.5 years...

Your not alone mummy xox
