Huge age gap between children

Huge age gap between children

So I always wanted a small age gap between my children, however after I had my son my circumstances changed. He is now almost 6 and another baby is still not on the cards for a few years (mainly because you either need s man which I don't have or you need to go to a sperm bank which I don't want to do until I'm 30 and desperate, I am currently 26). My situation has got me thinking that there will be a huge age gap between my first and second children. At least 7/8 years. Has anyone here got a huge age gap like this and how did things change, what were the pros and cons of this? What is it like?

My brother in law is 10 years younger than his sister and my mum is 20 years older than her brother!
My friend in primary school got a sibling when we were in year 7!
A friend has a 6month old an 9 year old and 10 year old. The older boys are very helpful and much easier to manage as she is only waking up to one child in the night, the older ones are much more independent and have been very helpful and involved!

My first child is 11 years old and new bubs is 10 weeks old. The big age gap allowed me so much one on one with my first and now I get alot of one on one with new bub as other child is at school. My 11 year old is a huge help with the baby and adores the bub. I wouldn't have it any other way now ?

I have 4 kids. I have a 14yo 13yo a 7 yo and a 14month old. To me i look at my 14mo now and think fck me u are the age ur sister was when i gave birth with number2. And i sit and shake my head and think how the f did i do it. The upside of having an older sibling is that the older 1 is old enough to understand and can really help ie. Preping bottles, changing nappies watching bub whilst u make dinner or put a load of washing on or even just to have a bloody shower. But i have found especially between 2 and 3 they fight alot more and being in different stages do not have a lot in common. I also have 2 sisters one is 6 years older than i am and 1 is 4yrs younger. I have more in common and get easier with my older one than my younger one.
