Hi ladies,
I'm currently on the mini pill and doctor has suggested I go on the Depo Provera injections (as I'm so paranoid about getting pregnant) and I've heard too many bad things about the Mirena IUD.
I've read a few reviews and there doesn't seem to be too many positives with getting these injections. I know everyone reacts differently but I would love to hear your opinions (good and bad) about these injections and if it's worth while giving them a try.
Thank you !!

I fell pregnant on the depo. My doctor was horrid.
But he said the likeness of it happening is so incredibly small. But everything has positives and negatives.
Like the other poster said there pros and cons for everything. However i loved being on the needle just for the fact i didnt get a period ?. I did however put on about 5kgs. For me not having a period was better than 5kgs
I'd prefer the IUD everything has a small risk and at least the mirena can be removed if it doesn't agree with you. The depo you are stuck with until it wears off!
I'd also research the nuva ring
Iv tried most of them myself, had bad experience with the Mirena, i was bad at remembering to take the pill so i had the depo shot, to me its great i have never had a bad experience with it and bonus i dont get my period for 3 months at a time only when im due for another shot, they all effect everyone differently though so you won't really know if it suits you until you try it yourself ?
Depo was terrible for me.. I thought sure one needle every 3 months, no problem. While I was on it I was so moody and depressed, I gained weight, no matter what I did I couldn't loose the weight. Now I've been off it since Feb, my periods are so irregular. I get them so randomly, and have had them for as long as 3 weeks. Because of this I'm hardly ovulating and finding it hard to fall pregnant. I had 3 rounds of it so was only one if for 9 months. Doctor said it can take up to 12 months before it sorts it's self out :(
I was psycho on Depo - like a different person!
Won't ever go there again.
I have the Implanon now. Can take a couple months for your period to settle down. Lasts 2 years.
I am due to get mine replaced next month and have just started getting light spotting around when my period would be due.
