At my 20 week ultrasound, the sonographer found a membrane that is cutting off part of my uterus from the baby (about 7cm from the cervix). The baby doesn't look to be attached or entangled in it, but a section of the umbilical looked to be pushed up into it. The baby is looking healthy and measuring a week ahead of the initial due date so at this point, it doesn't look to be affected. My Dr thinks its possibly an amniotic sheet as it isn't attached to the baby anywhere, has anyone experienced one of these during pregnancy? I would like to hear of different outcomes. I have been referred for a more detailed ultrasound, but it's not for another 3 weeks and my mind will go into overdrive in that much time!!
