Im guessing by the way you've written this that it's not a little babies first Christmas but your first christmas as a mum to older kids? Have you heard of elf on the shelf? I have never done it cause my baby is too young but I see parents all the time doing it and it looks like so much fun!
Also stockings at the end of the bed are always good to keep kids entertained until a decent hour so you get some sleep lol.
We do stockings on end of bed and presents under the tree, three from Santa one big and two little and the biggest from mum and dad for example ( monster high doll, shopkins and my little ponies from Santa, swing set from mum and dad) Santa also fills the stocking with undies, socks, pencils and textas, pencil case, hair bands ect while mum and dad buy school bag and school shoes or clothes ect for Xmas- we choose not to do too many presents about three from us and three from Santa depending on what they want if they get a big toy or swing set then they get clothes ect as well but if they only want a doll then they get a little bit more
We do stockings left on the lounge. Santa always brings them a book some clothes and a small toy. Mum and dad buy all the good exciting stuff (why should santa be the good one all the time). My biggest issue at xmas time is my youngest has his birthday on the 30th dec so always stuck on what to get him. Poor thing gets xmas and bday in less than a week.
I just put the presents under the tree once kid is asleep. We do stockings and they are usually hung on anything tall enough to take them!
I love presents under the Xmas because that was my favourite part of Christmas as a child. Coming out in the morning while it was still dark, all the lights would be lit and the presents under/around the tree. It looked magical.
We do a pillowcase on the lounge room floor (bigger than a stocking ?). It's what my family used to do so we've carried that on. Most of the fun comes from making a name tag to go on it.. We do one big present from parents that's wrapped under the tree. Santas gifts are something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read and something to eat
Babies we dont do much they have no idea.
We put out a snack and drink for Santa. Sometimes they make a magic key at school you leave it outside and Santa leaves it inside once hes used it. Also could put out reindeer food just remember to make sure theyve eaten it.
We put presents from us under the tree earlier, when theyre young just the day before or they can't wait.
Then santa comes and fills their stockings at end of bed and leaves big toys already set up by the tree or in the backyard.
