I got some of those 'period undies' - they're good, but yes I do notice an odour. I tend to use them with a liner so if there is any mishap all's good.

If you want reusable and enviro friendly get a menstral cup instead. I wish i found mine years ago. I bought the lynette one its so so good. And no smell and no leaks and u can even sleep with it in.

Cup with cloth pads (overnight and first couple of days as over flow protection) since 2008. Still using original products. No odor. Get bamboo pads. Expensive but worth it.

I love my cup, took a few cycles to get the hang of it.
