As a mother of three in her thirties, having never seen another vagina in my life, and being a taboo subject, i have some questions.
Do vaginas have a smell? Are they supposed to be odorless? Or are they supposed to have there own scent?
Labia... are they supposed to be all neat and tidy like porn stars? Because mine protrude :(
Discharge... we all get it right? Every day?
I know this may seem silly for a woman my age to be asking these things!

I'm a bit the same was never really given any sort of decent info about vaginas but I know they all have their own scent and like sweat it can change with what you eat/ drink and what time of the month it is, as for Labias they are all different some protrude a little, some alot some not at all, I personally don't get much discharge (on a daily basis) unless it's ovulation time normall every second or third day a get a little
Vaginas all look very different and porn vaginas are chosen specifically for being innnies. But a lot of women are outies! Magazines in particular have to photoshop vaginas so the labia is hidden. Ridiculous!
Yes I used to get some kind of discharge everyday but as I've aged it has changed. Now I'm in my 40s I'm a lot drier and a, probably in peri-menopause.
Don't scrub your vagina as that can make it smelly and can worsen things like thrush. I simple squirt with the shower is enough. If you are concerned about anything, please speak to your GP. They are very understanding and can check you out for things like thrush etc.
These are such common questions from women a labia library was set up

Labias, just like women, come in all shapes, sizes and colours.
Vaginas do have a smell, but it's not a foul smell (if it does smell bad, that usually indicates an infection).
Discharge, again, normal. If it has a colour (other than white/clear), then that also can mean infection), but clear discharge is normal. Especially around ovulation.
Yes Vagina's do have a smell, a few different smells during the month before you get your period. A vinegary smell (normal), A slight sweat smell when you have discharge and 'pussy' smell which isn't disgusting it's actually what gets guys turned on the most which occurs when you're ovulating. Oh and a slight fishy odour a couple of days before and during your period. If your vagina has a strong foul smelling odour or yeasty smell, then definitely have it checked out. Other than that, it's all normal.
All vagina's are different, some stick out more than others, some are nice and neat and all tucked in. If you google 'different vagina's' there will be a chart of pictures.
Discharge is totally normal and f'n annoying really lol Depending on where you are in your cycle, there will be more and some days less and different textures and smells. As we get older, we do start to dry up so be thankful that you are still pretty moist lol
I am a midwife. I have seen so many vaginas in my 10 years of doing this job. And they are all so different in so many ways. Smells are normal, and are stronger when we're due for a shower :) But of course, don't go nuts with soaps or body wash, it really messes up the balance of good and bad microbes down there and can cause all sorts of itchy problems! We all have different labia length, shape, thickness, size, texture, etc. We have different colours of skin, ranging from pale pink to dark brown and made shades between. We have different public hair patterns when left natural, and we choose to groom in many different ways! We have different sized clitorises, different positions of our urethra, and many of us have visible harmorrhoids or varicose veins in our vulva or groin when pregnant that make people feel self conscious. We have lots of differences internally that are too difficult for me to describe. Birth can change the appearance of our vaginas too. Sometimes we are left a little bit uneven or scarred after pushing a baby out. I could go on for longer, but I think you probably get my point! Ignore all the images of neat, hairless, tucked-in vaginas. They are very rare and not representative of the vast majority of the population Embrace your individuality :-)
