Full time work with children

Help with work!!! I've just been offered a full time job, luckily I have until the start of next year to make the decision but I don't know what to do. I will have a 5 year old in primary school and an almost 4 year old attending pre school 3 days a week. If I take the full time job it will be Tuesday to Saturday so I will need an extra day for my 4 year old. I'm in two minds, a full time job means job security, more money to save for a house, paid holidays, sick leave (currently casual so I get none of that) but it means a little less time spent with my children. I guess I just want to hear the pros and cons to other full time working mums to see what I'm getting myself into!!

I say go for it. Quality time counts more than quantity!

I wouldnt do it.youre right about job security and perks. But not full time. Never forget there are other options available.
I would try to negotiate a four day week.
I am lucky enough to work a few days a week for a good salary its a good balance. I do full time sometimes to get an income boost, but its a very different life.
And i should add Iam casual. I have been offered contracts but i just cant prioritise that over this lifestyle and flexible time for my kids at this point in time.

I'm a mum of 3 & work full time, when I was offered this position I thought it'd be fantabulous but to be perfectly honest with the amount of after school care i pay ect it's just not worth it! ? I don't have any family friends ect to help so I don't know if that's on option for you? But if it is, I say go for it. Best of luck x

I'm a Mum of 2 and personally I wouldn't be able to manage working fulltime, I work 3 days and find that a struggle at the best of times! But do whatever is best for you, if you have a gut feeling it's going to be too much it probably will be. If you have help of family or friends then you might be able to juggle it but definitely weigh up your options.

I work full time with two sons, my youngest is about to go into full time school in 2017. I pay a lot in before and after school care but financially it works that I work full time. I have been doing this since they were 1.

I say go for it if it is going to help you be financially secure and get a house. Just remember you need to be super organised good luck.
