Have been with my husband for 10 years, we have 2 kids and the whole time we have lived pay to pay! I've been a stay at home mum for the last 6 years and have taken to some part time work that I'm able to do while my youngest is home.. I don't think it will ever be able to be a full time job so I've started thinking about our future! At the moment my husband is about as far up in his job as he can get so I've realised if we want to be comfortable and be able to afford luxuries than I'm going to need a good paying job! My youngest starts kindy In a couple of years so thought this would be the prefect time to start looking into it.. Although I have no idea what I want to do.. All I know is (and as shallow as its sounds) I want it to be high paid.. Like $800-$100 a week after tax! Can anyone tell me what kind of full time jobs would pay around that much? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question!

GO YOU!!!! I think its awesome you are doing this :)
Have you looked at health careers - psychology, pathology, radiology....
I work in health and love it!!!
GOODLUCK IM xx
For this wage I think you'd need to look into studying a diploma or degree, doing an apprenticeship or working your way up in a job. My husband is a tradesmen and has worked his way up after his apprenticeship, 15 years later he clears $1200. Without a degree or experience under your belt, I don't any other option.
Desperate for work I applied at an abattoir when my son started pre-school, by the time he hit high school I was manager of my dept with no qualifications, just a lot of hard work and a flair for logistics.
My pearl of wisdom is, don't focus on $$$ as much as you focus on what you are good and passionate about. If you play to your strengths you will be better at what you do and will get more $$$. I fell into a job that plays to all my strengths without realising it (already had a degree) and now I can confidently negotiate what I want, knowing I am good and worth it. Eg. If you are great with kids, look at a B.ed, if you are creative and a good writer, look into B.Bus marketing, if you are sciencey, look at pharmacy etc. Degrees are hard work (more so with kids) and unless you are really passionate about your future career prospects, you might not go the distance. I applaud you for your ambition and good luck, it's never too late, if you are in your 30s, you have another 30 something years of work, do something you love.
I have also been in the same boat!! My youngest starts school next year and ive only been working a few hours a week at a supermarket. I have now decided to bite the bullet and go to University at the ripe old age if 43!! I'm going to study Criminology and am so excited/nervous but it's time for some me time and hopefully a really fulfilling career at the end of it!!! Good luck with your endeavors too :-)
Mining is great money!!! And lots of fun driving oversized tonka trucks, bulldozers ect. I easily clear $1500 + a week after tax. But it's long hours when you have kids ? But my 2 school age kids have survived so far.
