Looking for people dealing with Developmental coordination disorder...

Hi, my daughter (5) has been diagnosed with developmental coordination disorder (DCD)
Im told there is no cure or treatment but can be improved. I'm looking for anyone who has dealt with this with their child and if there are any success stories or to hear from an adult who was diagnosed with this as a kid and Is living a somewhat mentally healthy life. I am trying to find out what comes now and if there's hope for my daughter when she's an adult and what sort of life will she have. I'm also hoping to find out how this affects people socially from childhood to adulthood. Thank you in advance. I will appreciate anything.

Hi, developmental coordination disorder used to be referred to as dyspraxia. My son has dyspraxia amongst other things.
The condition itself varies greatly in severity from one person to the next. To be honest although it's created some challenges it's not stopped my son doing anything.
It's a disorder of motor skills so it hasnt affected him mentally at all. It just refers to his ability to coordinate movements.
He is now an adult and it seriously hasn't stopped him doing anything he needed or wanted to do. Yes he can be awkward or take a bit longer to master a physical skill. But beyond that...
I actually know a lot of kids/teens/adults with disorder and while none of them have become great sports people it's not effected them mentally at all. An adult I know who has a severe form is currently studying to be chef.
