Hi everyone!
My daughter who just turned 8 a couple of months ago has just developed a breast bud!
I have done some research and although she is early it seems quite normal for puberty to start at 8!!!
I also developed early and got my first period at 11.
She is not overly tall for her age (125cm) and she is only 21kgs!
My problem is she is beyond embarrassed and actually horrified at this breast bud! She even asked if we could go to the doctors to remove it. I have already told her she must not try to pop it to get rid of it as it is normal.
Anyone have any tips how to make this awkward, embarrassing stage any easier for my little lady! I think she is feeling very alone as she is developing before her friends even though she is one of the youngest in her friendship group!

My best friend in school got her period at 9! She was mortified, but as far as I remember other girls treated her almost as if she was special! They all wanted their period too! (I can remember hoping and wishing I got mine when I was 13 because I was the only one who hadn't! What an idiot! Haha)
I know you can't really convince kids of anything but I would try to find someone your daughter really admires (like the cool aunty, or an older cousin etc) to talk to her about it and make it seem like a good thing to be growing up. Poor thing though it will be tough.
We all developed early too. But I seemed to be in a school of early developers.
It is worth speaking to your daughters GP about precocious puberty though as there are some ways to delay/reverse precocious puberty.
