ASG - Australian Scholarships Group. Any good reviews?

I saw a previous question regarding ASG (Australian Scholarships Group) on here some time ago. I can find plenty of unfavourable reviews online about the scheme, advising people to steer clear. I was just wondering if that's due to most people only speaking out when they have a complaint, or if there are actually people out there who have had good experiences with ASG and received the predicted returns on their investment. My parents invested with them for us starting in approx 1980, and it helped us financially when we got into our uni courses in the 90s, but we didn't get the predicted returns on their investment. So I'm not sure why they're still so pro-ASG, as opposed to other savings and investment options. If anyone has good stories, could you please share? I reluctantly joined the scheme under pressure from my family, as they are all long-time devotees. I'm not convinced that it's a good idea, and I want to either a) leave the scheme or b) feel more comfortable about my money being in their hands.
