I DID WHAT!!?

I paid my kids 11 & 9 $50 each to clean the house!!! Yeah I no, wtf! I'm over it. I woke up Wednesday night with gastro.. Couldn't get them to school Thursday. Had 2 days off work in bed feeling like utter crap... I couldn't stand the mess. So I paid them. If they were real cleaners, I'd sack them. But least the house is kinda better than it was.... And they did let me stay in bed and sleep. Oh the joys of motherhood! Lol. Am I the only one who's done something this crazy to get by!?

There's nothing wrong with it (except you ripped yourself off haha but sure the peace was worth every cent). I bribed my tired little four year old to go to kindy 5 days in a row so i could go to work with promise of a big toy. Its hard work for them too a treats nice.

My son has had to do his own clothes washing since he was 12 :)
And when I broke my ankle I bloody well worked him hard.

Good on you! Do think you could've got away with bit cheaper next time lol.

Today I was so sick of my 5yr olds behaviour lately and had to do big grocery shop..... I put his favouriite toy in my bag and told him if he mucked up at all it was going in bin at shop. Mucked up as soon as got there so I took it to bin and said he had one more chance if he apologized.
He did and was an so well behaved for rest of shop.
No idea what I would've done if he called my bluff cause I wouldn't have chucked it but he didn't know that

Ha. I bribe my 3.5 year old with a lolly (multivitamin ) or sprinkle bread (fairy bread) if he has a nap.
I need that 1.5 hours of peace.
Do what works for you.

I see such benefits from doing things like this (maybe its just me trying to justify it) Every few weeks or so I ask my daughters (13&14) to cook a dinner. I want them to be unlike me and at least know how to cook something when they leave home...(no word of a lie i couldnt even cook an egg!!!!). I have also paid them to do certain jobs to help me. Sometimes you have to do what ever you can to make it through the day.

Yep, our kids need to learn how to look after themselves.
When we were teenagers we each had to cook one meal a week. Did our own clothes washing and were responsible for deep cleaning a room of the house once a fortnight (other than our bedroom).
It taught us lifeskills.
