Hi, I'm moving interstate in December. All my furniture will be going in the week before Christmas and I'll be staying in a hotel until around the 27th.
Any ideas on how to celebrate Xmas in this manner? I'll have a 4yo for the second half of the day, the morning he'll be with his Dad.
Obviously I can't have lots of presents, so what else can I do to make this special? It'll just be me and him

Get out of the hotel.
Go to the beach/park/lake etc and have a Christmas themed picnic.
Some towns even have community Christmas lunch for those who don't have family to celebrate with.
As for gifts, a 4 year old doesn't need much.
I try and stick to the:
"Something they want.
Something they need.
Something to wear.
Something to read".
Spent around $50 on all my sons gifts (the 4 above mentioned) one year.
If you have any family or friends in the area, ask if you can join their celebrations?
