Just wondering on parents that have share care arrangement of - every second weekend and half of school holidays. What is the percentage for each parent with Centrelink/ child support? And does anyone have suggestions on a care share arrangement with parents living an hour apart and the child starting school next year. Would like to make it 50/50 share care or close to it. Thanks in advance

You would need to work out the number of days you each have and go from there.
We do 50/50 with my stepdaughter have done since she was 18months old now 12. We have Wednesday afternoon to Sunday afternoon week one, then Wednesday afternoon until Saturday morning week 2. But we live within 10 mins from each house. Her mum was considering week on week off when she started high school this year but my step daughter wasn't keen and didn't want to be that long apart from either family on a permanent basis, sometimes over holidays we might do a week or two at one home then swap the next holidays depending on if either family is going away etc. If your going to do it and live that far away there is going to be a lot of travel to school unless you find a school in the middle that will take out of zone applications. 50/50 has always work well for us, we all all happy, stepdaughter is well adjusted and settled. We don't do any child support on any either end (we have been we are entitled to it because the other family is on a much higher income and have no other children to support) but to me it's my husbands daughter and both parents should be paying half that's child's way. We go halfs in everything school and medical related. Then everything she has/needs/does at our house we pay for everything at her mums she pays for.
