Boosting baby's immune system

Boosting baby's immune system

Hi Mummas, do you have any suggestions of supplements or Vitamins to give my 8mo to boost her immunity? She starts day care next week as I have to return to work and I remember spending more time at home than at work when my eldest was in daycare from all the colds and viruses she would catch. Any suggestions would be appreciated :-)

Garlic, turmeric, ginger, green veg, citrus, probiotics, talk to the pharmacist they all seem to swear by inner health plus, mine said i can give my kids one to the baby but definitely check for yours

I'm not sure on a 8mth old but speak to your gp and pharmacist.
My son was so sick when he started daycare and then at 18mths we started giving him a multi v ( not recommended for under 2 ) but it made a huge difference.
We gave him a half dose each day and within a month he'd stopped getting so sick and catching every cold etc

There's nothing guaranteed to boost an immune system, unfortunately
You can pump them with probiotics, fresh fruit and veg etc, herbs all you like but they will likely pick up bugs here and there - some kids will pick up everything, some will be less susceptible. If bub has an older sibling they have probably been exposed to more stuff than a first baby but you can't be sure. "They" say that kids pick up most things in their first year of daycare, but they become more resilient after that. I think that's probably true but also that some people will naturally have stronger immune systems than others, and some people will be prone to respiratory type illnesses but not tummy bugs, and then others vice versa.

I would just ensure that your workplace are understanding of the situation. Parents need to keep sick kids home sometimes and it's unfortunately a risk that goes with the territory of having a parent as an employee.
