I am finding it so hard to find and meet people! I'm only young and a mother, so everyone I knew from school is not. I know other young mums my age or around but feel incredibly awkward just asking them to catch up incase they do not accept.
The mothers from my mother's group are all a lot older and it's hard to mingle as I can't relate to anything they're going through or been through
I'm very socially awkward and have bad anxiety so it's not easy for me to make friends.
How do I make friend and meet people?

Has it occurred to you that the other young mums are afraid of rejection too?
What's the worst that can happen? They say no, or blow you off, is that really as terrible as you imagine it is?
Age is just a number. I'm a young mum too and have made HEAPS of friends through my kids school. They range from 2 years younger than me, to 14 years older than me. It doesn't matter who you talk to, there's always going to be differences, different interests, different beliefs. If you don't talk to people to get to know them, you'll never discover the things that you DO have in common! Take your kids to the park and say hello to the other parents, or as you walk your kids into school say good morning to other parents as you pass them. Start small. I too suffer from anxiety and can find being in social settings very nerve-racking, but I've found that simply being polite and appearing friendly makes other people comfortable and more likely to strike up a conversation.
