Exhausted allllll the time

Hi ladies,

I guess i am looking for some advise. I have been suffering with fatigue for a number of years now. It has been pretty bad. No matter how much sleep i get i am always chronically tired. Sometimes to the point where it effects my driving. Basic day to day things exhauset ne and i struggke to exercise. I have to sleep gor three hrs just to recoup from trying to be healthy. I have seen numerous doctors over the years for this issue and have only just recently found one thst is willing to more than the basic tests to try and find a solution. I guess what i am asking is, is there any ladies that has or is going through anything similar? Is there anything that i can do to try and alleviate the fatigue?

Have you ever had a sleep study? My son has a rare sleep disorder. In the sleep physicians appointment we discussed a number of different possibilities. Specialist was saying A lot of people with sleep disorders are tired ALL the time. They can sleep a lot but the quality of sleep is so poor that they don't ever feel refreshed and struggle to find the energy to do day to day stuff.
Definitely something I'd want explored.

Have you been tested for glandular fever/ross river fever and there is a couple with similar symptoms. Several years ago i was the same i would take my 2 young children at the time to daycare and be nearly falling asleep on the drive home. I got tested for 4 types of different fevers and 3 came back positive. Also get tested for hemochromatosis.

I have lost count of the amount of times i have had thyroid, iron, and Vit Bs tested, they always come back normal. They havent checked me for any viruses though, so it will be worth asking about.

I have struggled with this myself for years, I went to so many different doctors and none of them helped. They just did the standard blood tests which all came back fine. One told me I had chronic fatigue disorder. It was so bad at one point that I physically could not get out of bed or keep my eyes open, I was falling asleep at my desk (I work for my family business so I was lucky to have my dad as a boss or I'm sure I would have been sacked), I was asleep every chance I got. When it was at this point I was taking a contraceptive pill, I stopped taking it for other reasons but found that I felt normal again after a week of not taking it, I went back on it and went downhill again so I'm off it completely now.
Things were better for a while but it got bad again and I did all the blood tests etc again but all where normal, I gave up and just accepted the fact that this was me. Someone suggested that I see a naturopath and I did and honestly it has been the ONLY thing that has helped me, I saw her once a month for about 5 months and I finally felt like a normal person again! I actually made it through the day without napping, I felt amazing.
It's been nearly 2 years now and I still feel great and I am studying to become a personal trainer, that's how good I feel. Yes I still have shitty tired days and still not the best morning person but I feel normal and happier and energized.

It is not normal to feel this way, don't give up and just keep seeing different people until you find someone who will help you.

Also to add to my comment, I just read an above comment about being tested for glandular fever. My naturopath had me tested for viruses and it came back positive for glandular fever, I never knew I had it! After doing some research on it I found that it is closely related to chronic fatigue syndrome. Worth looking into.
