IM Question: 13month old never liked food.
Hi ladies, I have 3 kids, all three are petite, my older two both loved food from 6months old and have never had a problem getting them to eat. Now we have a 13month old who just doesn't want to eat. She is primarily breast fed, and started solids at 4months, at this point I tried for a week and she just didn't want it, so stopped and tried again at 5months, again no interest. At 6months I started her on yoghurt and she loved it so that was the one thing she would eat daily. After a couple months she got over that and so the constant trying of different things began.
I've learnt that she will try anything once or maybe 4 times and then that's it, glues her mouth shut and either whacks the spoon away or throws the food....
I am booked in to see a specialist in two weeks time. I just want to rule out any underlying problems.
But in the meantime would like to know if anyone has had something similar happen with their baby? What helped? I really don't want to stop breastfeeding just yet...
Thankyou for your time

Could you possibly cut her feeds down?
Obviously depending on how much she is feeding. At 13 months old my children ate 3 meals a day plus 3 bottles. (Formula) but they always had food first then milk as milk is less important from 12 months.
So example is get up brekkie , bottle , lunch , bottle , dinner , bottle for bed. With some snacks inbetween or drinks in a cup.
My daughter has always been terribly with food , just not interested , even now she can go till night time with only having her day sleep feed
I started giving her bottles with berrys banana acai green smoothies with spinach kiwi apple carrot or veggi juices with a bit of a cut in the bottle top so it comes out it's the only way I get her to eat breakfast most days she still bfeeds to sleep so she gets 1 in day 1 at night and 1 when she wakes in the morning to go back down for another hour or two hope that helps good luck xx
