My husband may have a opportunity to move to Dubai from work! The commitment would be minimum 5 yrs. we have 3 kids. It would be a financial benifet. I am just unsure about living their with kids. It's not the life I pictured, I think it would be amazing experience for the kids but would just love to speak to anyone that has done it. If anyone would like to share their experiences if they have done it , I would love to hear them .
I am worried about schooling, keeping my toddler entertained, cost of living. Meeting people. Would love to hear if you have done it , would you do it again? Thanks in advance.

One of my partner's good friend lives there and is working as school teacher, he's single and no kids. We have stayed with him a couple of times and he seems to enjoy it but I think he gets quiet lonely as he has no family around him. I think friends wise he is happy as he works with mostly westerners and his whole apartment building are westerners and they seem to go out quiet often.
I don't think you need to worry about keeping a toddler entertained as Dubai has literally EVERYTHING you could imagine! The only thing I don't think I'd ever get used to is the heat as it is just so intense all the time.
I did quiet a bit of shopping there and we went out for food and drinks everyday and I would say that price wise everything is much the same as Australia apart from fuel which is ridiculously cheap. I believe they also have some of the best hospitals in the world.
It sounds like an amazing opportunity and one worth trying! Good luck!
Dubai would be fine to go to and has a fantastic ex pat community. We are considering moving back to the UK for a short time so although its not the UAE I find I would worry about the same things as well for my two school aged sons.
Do you research, be prepared :). Good luck.
Do it!
