Hi I would like to ask a question for all your readers - At what age is best and how do you know your daughter is ready for the puberty talk? Thanks.

We didn't get one talk. I think one talk makes it awkward and weird. We were given information from as soon as we could talk/ask questions.
But I think at the latest I'd be starting the convo at 9. I'm 42 now and from memory there were girls who had boobs and periods by around 10 (they were in the minority but it did happen and still happens).
I got my period around 11 and was growing hair and boobs before that. My son was about 12 when he started getting hair etc.
Personally I like it to be a very open topic because I wanted my kid not to feel nervous and feel free to ask questions. I didn't want him to think I was embarrassed by the topic. Because if I'm embarrassed he'll be embarrassed.
From about 6-7 and up I was having different conversations about periods, pubic hair etc. They noticed a 'nappy ' in my knickers when I went to the toilet , so I explained that women bleed once a month for about a week and they will when they're older. They asked why I have hair and I told them they'll get that, too. Basically it's just come up as they've gotten older. Now 9 and 10 and they know everything except the act of sex. No hair or periods for my girls yet. I know some people go into great detail with talking about sex from a young age but my girls are not ready at all and with that I'm preserving their innocence but still talking about body safety.
I haven't had "a" talk as such. I am a single mum and growing up my daughter has seen me use pads/shower/toilet etc and whenever she has asked me a question I have tried to answer in an age appropriate way. It helps that her older cousin has been going through puberty and they clearly discuss that amongst themselves. (My favourite was when she realised she would one day grow hair "down there" - she was appalled lol!) She will often come to me for clarification after these talks :)
