Challenging Child - ASD?

I don't know which way to go! I feel like every day is getting worse and I feel terrible for thinking that!
My 7yo DD has shown some triggers/traits of ASD. She was seeing a speechy and OT each week for some moderate delays and they were the ones who picked these things up. My problem is I took her to a pediatrician when she was 3 because I was concerned at her emotional meltdowns and physical self harm (throwing herself at walls, head butting the ground and punching herself in the head) but I was dismissed and told she was developing on track. Clearly she wasn't because she has been in speech therapy for 3 years!
It's seems like these traits are getting worse. Each day I am left mentally exhausted from her questions/stories/obsessions which are the same stories and questions each day! I'm crying because I cringe when she says "mum"!
I find myself begging bed time to hurry up and I feel so guilty.
I don't know where to turn to to get her assessed and find support. I'm struggling to understand what is happening and how I can be a better mum. My partner is supportive but he commutes so he doesn't see what I see.

Time to head back to GP your child needs an assessment by a child psychologist. Also ask for a referral to a child psych and to a new peaditrician.
Which state are you in? Look at the autism awareness Australia page as they have a list of professionals who work in the area of autism in each state. You can ask your GP to write referral to the specialists you want. So don't be afraid to ring before you get your referral.Be prepared to go privately don't let your girl get stuck on a public waiting list.

Girls can be much harder to diagnose than boys. I'm evidence of that, being diagnosed in my late 30s. My 21 year old son also has a diagnosis.

PS if you want to seek me out on Facebook please do. Us parents of kids with challenges flock together on Facebook and I know people who know professionals in most states.
