C-Section versus Vaginal Breech Birth

Hi All

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and baby is breech. An ECV has been attempted to turn the baby and failed. I feel like my doctor is pushing me into having a vaginal breech birth however I am not so keen on this and am leaning towards requesting a c-section. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with either delivery?

What I would have given to be allowed to have this option. My doctors pushed for a c-section. I never wanted one and would have happily done a vaginal breech birth instead. My sister has had 2 sets of twins and both times the second has come out breech it was painful but her recovery was still so much better than mine. If your baby is small than a breech birth shouldn't be so bad. All the best ultimately the decision is yours I've now had 2 c-sections and wish my little town gave you the option of
V-bac's.

I think these things depend on a lot of factors. Pelvis size, previous birth histories etc.
Too many variables to compare!

My baby was breech. I was really trying for a natural birth, but if it was breech I did some research and decided there was no way!
I started mentally preparing that this would be a c section, still trying every technique and trick going to turn the baby, and baby turned in the last week and I had a perfect natural birth.

Also look at alternative ways to get baby to change position. I know there is a lot of evidence for acupuncture to get a baby to move into position. It would be worth a try. Try contacting a few acupuncturists in your area to see if they are trained and have experience doing this.
