Mummas i need your help :)
Long story short it is looking like the only doctor suitable to deliver my baby (caesarean under general anaesthetic) will be through a private hospital which is fine, i am comfortable with this particular surgeon and her procedures etc so the private costs are irrelevant. Can i please hear your experiences with this type of delivery? Approximate costs involved (birthing and hospital stay with no insurance coverage) and any advice regarding the procedure and recovery itself. Thankyou :)

Ive had 3 csections in a private hospital. I find the care is really good and its nice to have a private room. Ive never had csection via a GA. But some advice buy some big knickers like a few sizes above what you are now cos your knickers rubbing on your stitches really hurts badly, make sure have a partner or someone helpful that is willing to pull your pants up cos you will struggle to bend over. At the end of the day the biggest thing is rest and not over do your self. The more you do the longer it will take to recover. With each of mine i was up and going the next day and pretty much normal after 4wks.
Where are you? It can cost 6-10k excess in Melbourne on top of insurance. So I hate to think what it would cost without. If there is a medical or psychological reason you need it done then a public hospital should do it for you
