Large Chested mummy needing advice and feedback on Breast Reduction/ Lift

Has any of you mummy's had a breast reduction after you have finished having children? I have very large breast ever since I was a young teen. They are excessively large (F-H) I am about a size 16-18 and they are too big for my body. I can't run without holdin my breast, I can't fit in any clothes or bra's. I have lost weight in the past and I never seemed to lose weight off my breast. This is effecting my everyday life :(

I am in pain daily with back/ neck & shoulder ache. Even my posture is effected. I am in my late 20's and have finished having children. I would love to know anyone stories of their experience with breast reductions and lifts. And if anyone could recommend anyone in Brisbane or Gold Coast. Has anyone gone through the public health system/ waiting list? Approximate costing?

If you have had this procedure done, what is the recovery time like? Are the scars bad? Is it well worth doing?

Thank you so much from this unhappy uncomfortable mummy, desperately needing some relief.

Hi Anonymous - I'm 43 and in in Aug 2015 I had BR, going from a 14H to a 14DD/E (depending on the bra). Like you, I'm finished having children, couldn't run due to breast size, found clothing (including bras) very difficult - if it fit the shoulders, it wouldn't button around the chest and if it went around the chest it was massive everywhere else. I went on a weight loss program and 15kilos later I only lost 2 cup sizes which made me even more uncomfortable (keep in mind I'm just over 5 feet tall) and here I was 65k with 12F boobs. It was terrible. Mentally and physically.

DH and I discussed it for years before we made the decision. Once we made the decision I read as much as I could find on the procedure, other's experience, and any tips I could get my hands on. Several months beforehand I joined a gym and three months before the surgery I worked very hard to build up the muscles in my arms/chest/core because I knew it would be helpful for them after surgery during the healing process. I'm so glad I did because it was a full 6 weeks before I was given clearance to go back to the gym. I'm by no means fit, but I do enjoy my time at the gym.

I strongly suggest you read up about people's experience (there are many forums available but you'll need to subscribe/join for full access to the information since some people post before/after photos) and I strongly suggest you talk to more than one surgeon. If you are looking for more tips, or would like to know more about my journey you are more than welcome to contact me directly :)

I wish you all the best and am here if you need/want anything.
