Sibling age gaps

Sibling age gaps

Hi everyone.
Just wondering what others experiences were with age gap in between siblings. What's it like with over a 4 year gap? Do they get along better? Do you prefer them to be closer in age?
Thanks in advance :)

I have 4 kids, all gaps are 2yrs apart (or there abouts 24mths, 22mths and 23months). My oldest is 6.5, youngest is 7mths. My 6.5 and 4.5 are such good friends. They adore each other, get along great. My 2.5 is a bit of a loner and the baby is well he is a baby.

I've got no experience with just the 4 yr gap but when my 3rd was born the oldest was 4 and she adored her little sister. I can see why pp like the 4yr gap.

Only con is generally 4yrs they start to go to school or Kindy and it does make it hard getting out the door for school with a baby every day.

Last year I had a preppie and a newborn (plus 2 others) and it was a bit chaotic getting out the door, but that's prob cuz I had 4 kids.

Would I want bigger gaps?! No get it out of the way early was our motto. I personally couldn't imagine going from a 4yr old back to the baby stage.

I have 4yr 1 mth between my kids and it is awesome.
From the start my son had adored his sister and been so gentle. She's now 14mths, he's 5 and they are so good together. He is so patient with her and try's to teach her words etc and happy to share and play with her.
Think it's a great gap cause he's old enough to understand when I was bf and needed quiet to feed her or even now when she naps he keeps quiet etc.
Yeah they have there moments like all kids but on the whole I love this age gap compared to friends who struggled a lot with closer ages

I think a 3+ year age gap is perfect. The reason I say that is I get on with both my siblings who are 3 years then 4yrs6 months apart from me.

My siblings who are only 18mths apart do not get on at all. They were always competing and still compete.

I have a 5+ year age gap. The hardest things are taking a baby to school and events and also finding things they can both enjoy. They get along pretty well though but I think a 2-3 year age gap would have been easier.
