Anxiety in Children

Hey beauties, I’m just after advice on how to manage anxiety in kids (presuming its anxiety). My Daughter is 7 and has serious FOMO (fear of missing out). She is constantly self-doubting, says she has bad dreams and when she starts crying there is absolutely no reasoning with her. She gets herself so worked up she says silly things like she’s not part of our family and we don’t love her etc. She’s saying things like her school teachers won’t let her go to the toilet (Which I’m almost certain they don’t say because when I told my daughter I would speak to them she said “don’t say anything, I’ll just deal with it”) or her Aunty let her sister do something but not her. We can’t do anything without her feeling left out or thinking it’s unfair because we asked her sister how her day was first and didn’t ask her first or I’m talking to her sister about something and I didn’t ask her about it. She is scared of random things (like water on her face) and its extremely active (Cant sit still, always bopping around etc)I just feel like we are having more bad days then good days and its really upsetting seeing her like that.

I want to get it under control now as I’m incredibly worried about how she will be when she is a teenager (Suicide in teens scares the hell out of me)

I just don’t know what to do, do I take her to see a councillor (she was seeing one at school but she didn’t want to continue) or take her to the doctors? I’m Just a bit lost as to where to start!

It's time for the GP for a referral to a paediatrician and child psychologist.
High anxiety goes hand in hand with a number of underlying causes that aren't always obvious, especially in girls. There is lots of help out there to help like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which will teach her to calm her self and challenge her own thoughts, but a paediatrician and psychologist would be my starting point.
