anxiety issues

Not really sure what i'm asking, and its rather long...just after some support or if anyone has gone through something similar. My mr 3 was displaying signs of anxiety and other issues for quiet some time, and i got a referral for him to see a pediatrician, occupational therapist, child physiologist and a speech therepist. Haven't gotten any results yet.
Mr 3 has been going to the same daycare one day a week for over 2 years and still screams at drop off sometimes for an hour or more, he clings to his bag and has hidden under tables, he wont interact with other children and rarely lets staff go near him. At home, he cant often be left with family as he becomes very distressed, if he is left with a family member he takes ages for them to settle him....he is extremely active and never stops, he has trouble sleeping and isnt a big eater even though he gets offered plenty of food. My family seems to think hes just a mummys boy and there is nothing wrong, but i feel there is more to the situation which is why i got the referral. He licks everything, and hates not having his shoes on, he is scared of so many things, from t-shirts with certain pictures to loud noises, when out in public he gets scared when other children and most adults come near him, going anywhere with him is near impossible....i just feel so lost

It could be one of a number of diagnosis it could be none!
But I used to meet a lot of kids like your son come through where I used to work. I won't suggest a diagnosis because I think that's best done by the professionals your son is seeing. I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone, there is help out there and no, it's not that he is a mummy's boy!

There are a huge amount of support groups out there for parents for every diagnosis under the sun.

One big issue that I faced when my son received a diagnosis was friends and family not believing it. I found taking a handful of them to specialist appointments made it click for them.
