How to make an induction day go fast?

Hi everyone,

I am needing some advice. Long story short I am finally having my rainbow baby next Wednesday after suffering from 8 miscarriages. I am being induced at 37 weeks due to complications and well my poor pregnancy history.

The doctor has advised me that being induced with the gel, can take all day if not longer. So I have been told get ready for a long day and night.

I am just wondering if you could please advise me what is the best way to kill time while we wait for the gel to work and get the labor going? All the games I have on my iPad need wifi and I don't want to use up all my phone data in one day. So all advice is really appreciated.

Thanks heaps

Ha! Yes it can take all day and it can take 3 hrs from go to here it is, as I found out.
So I wish you the same as I had!

But from loads of hospital visits, take a variety of things. Books, crosswords, newspaper, music, dowload some movies at home.

Depending on the hospital set up you may have tv.

Congratulations!!!
I was in the same boat 5 yrs ago. 11 losses and then finally my son was being induced and they told me it could take days...
I took a heap of puzzle books like take 5 etc, reading books and games on iPhone that didn't need wifi.
Was no need though as labour started 3 hrs after gel.
Good luck!! I hope you have a easy birth and not too much boring waiting time

I was induced also, and the best thing I took with me was a small cube shaped portable Speaker from JB HIFI. You plug your iphone in and you're good to go! It was sony brand and got me through induction, labour and the hospital stay afterwards. Best of luck and enjoy your beautiful baby.

I was booked in for an induction. Dr came in to break my waters at 9am nurse came in and told me to get comfy cause I would be there all day waiting for things to happen.... Told her I would be done by lunch and holding baby in my arms.... She laughed and so did I, even more so after I gave birth within 2-2.5 hours. Everyone is different... Look at your mothers labour/s you have a good chance of having similar to her.
