Interstate move!

Hi IMsy hubby has recently taken a job position interstate. So we have 6 weeks to pack and move 5000km. I'm completely overy head. He wants to just pack up the essentials (clothes paper work etc) and sell the rest instead of getting a removalist in ( he does have a point as most of our things are outdated and probably not worth it)
My Question
How do I know whats worth keeping
Have you moved and regretted not takings certain thins?
Pretty much how do u pack our whole lives up and to fit in a large trailer?
I'm so over my head I don't know where to start.

Things I saved were things that had proper memories. Most furniture etc can be replaced, but grandmas dresser that you inherited can't!
So what is replaceable, what is irreplaceable?
What toys, ornaments, nick nacks are you truly attached to.
Go through one by one. Create three groups, take with you, get rid of, and storage (.if you've got that option).
The packing itself is easy. Getting rid of the stuff you aren't taking is harder, as you'll need to organise garage sale or similar.
