Hi. I've recently been diagnosed with ADD. It's crazy that I got to 40, without realising, but after my daughter was having some difficulties at school and consequently was diagnosed with ADD, I started reading everything I could about it. I began to realise that all the personal accounts sounded like me and all the online screening tests said it was highly likely that I had it.
Anyhow, I'm off to see a psychiatrist (already see a psychologist for depression and anxiety which I think has been caused by the ADD) and looking at medication.
My question is, have any of you ladies been down this road? What meds did you try, and which ones worked/didn't work for you?bdid you take a stimulant? Did you take an anti-depressant that works well for people with ADD? (I currently take one for my D/A, and it helps but not with the brain fuzz, concentration etc) I am open to anything that is going to help me out of the cycle of self loathing that this condition has kept me n. I want to get my sh@t sorted and achieve the things I have been wanting to do for so long but haven't had the ability to do.
Also what other non-medical things worked for you? I am trying to exercise more and my psych is helping too.
Thanks!
