Is it completely crazy to pack up everything I own, put it all in storage, take my kids out of school for a term and spend 3 months travelling around North America and Europe?
They are all old enough that they will remember it, they all love travelling, and we've talked about doing it for ages. Financially we wouldn't be travelling in the lap of luxury but we would not be worried about where to eat or sleep.
It feels like fate has skewed my life to make now the perfect time to do it, but is it insane to just throw caution to the wind and go off on a grand adventure?

I would speak to your kids school and organise school work for your kids even set up an email account for them to email their teachers with the home work. I also would be weary if any of my kids where below avaerage and already struggled with school. Pulling them out may not be the best for their future education esoecially if their struggling now.
its a life experience that no amount of education can give. they will catch up when they get back. Go for it YOLO! :)
