Seperation Anxiety in 2 yr old

My almost 2 year old is going through Major seperation anxiety. Hubby and I have gone back to school. Hes not coping very well. He latches onto us the second he thinks we are leaving. We are doing everything we can think of to help him out but he is getting worse. Its now affecting him sleeping. As soon as he sees or hears us leave he panics and screams. We have loads of family time, we read books, play games, watch his fav show (Wiggles), go to the park, and so forth. Hes still a bit too young to understand whats going on, we tell him when we are going and that we love him. When we get home we make sure the first thing we do is see him and spend time with him. After a couple of books and some cuddles he is usually okay. When we both have to go, he goes to my mums which is never a problem until we return and he starts panicing again. Anyone have any suggestions to help him through this?

Currently having the same issues with my 2 yr old, the only thing you can do is help build up their trust for you, and its all in small steps my son currently goes to family dare one day a week
He still gets quite upset when I drop him off but settles quickly were as when I go to the gym and I drop him at crèche his fine even waves me goodbye.
