Mucus Plug??

Sorry for the TMI - I am 37 weeks pregnant, first time mum.. Every time I go to the toilet, I feel as though I need to do a poo but I don't, I just sit there and wee but when I wipe I have mucus?? Is this my mucus plug?? Or can you get mucus from your bum.. I have had it for 3 days now just passing little bits?? I have been getting on and off cramps in my lower stomach but nothing frequent, and I have a lot of pressure down below. I have advised the doctor of the pressure below but they said oh it's just normal, have not yet spoke to them about mucus but will do so in the morning just wanted to get others opinions.

It is quite common for your mucus plug to start falling out at this stage, but if you have any concerns or doubts please contact your doctor or midwife.
I wouldn't be too worried, though. It's most likely just your body preparing itself for your baby.

I'd speak to the doctor/midwife ASAP. Feeling like you want to poo and having cramps sounds like early labour.
I felt like I wanted to poo my entire labour!

I will contact the hospital in the morning and see how I go during the night, because I am a 30 minute drive from hospital.. If pain persists I will go to doctor, but I will still be checking in the morning with midwife

The plug can regenerate so passing bits of it in the last few weeks isn't abnormal and might not necessarily mean labour is close, however I agree that if you're feeling a lot of pressure too it is worth getting checked out. Ask if bub is positioned anterior (bub's front to your back) or posterior (bub's back to your back) as that cab have a bearing on that pressure feeling (back to back can give you the feeling you've described).
