My step daughter is 15. She is 16 in under 2 weeks. She's finished year 10 and has decided this year to leave school move in with us and go to tafe( last minute decision). She can't apply for the course till she is 16 ( we just found out) We are getting mixed information from her old school and the department of education.
Does any one know the rules and requirements at that age for studying?
Are there a certain amount of hours a week she has to do at tafe?
Can she leave school now?
Are we going to get in trouble as she can't do anything for two weeks when shes 16?
Etc
Thankyou in advance

It varies state to state, what state are you in?
We're in Adelaide. South Australia
Here is the legal stuff you need to know.
The principal at her old school can write an exemption for attendance for a few weeks to cover you legally, if they are inclined. The principal at my sons local school wrote one for my son while we waited to be approved for home schooling. But as long as she actually does go to TAFE full time you should be covered.
However you do need to check with the TAFE the likelihood acceptance. Because she could find herself without a course to go to if it fills up before she turns 16.

If the principal won't write exemption to cover yourselves legally she would need to go to school until she is accepted into the course.
