Labiaplasty
Hi sisterhood.
I have been thinking about getting a labiaplasty for about 6 years.
On one side of my labia it is very long and has a great deal of excess skin. It gets caught when having sex and hurts, it also sometimes gets in the way when inserting tampons.
It really kills my confidence in the bedroom, my partner and I have been together 4 and a half years and he has never mentioned it but it still makes me feel uneasy.
I had a small lump removed from my left breast a couple of years ago so my breasts are very uneven so this just adds to the lack of confidence.
Has anyone had a labiaplasty before? Any advice on dos and donts? Do you regret it?
Thanks mamas xx

I've never had labiaplasty done and although it concerns me hearing women who want it for cosmetic reasons, I think if it's causing you pain, discomfort etc then it's worth having done.
I personally would start with my GP as they will know plastic surgeons in your area and have an idea about who specialises in labiaplasty.
The Cosmetic Institute in Sydney and Gold Coast does labiaplasties for $3000.
You could also look into the British doco 'the perfect vagina' you can watch it on YouTube. It's very informative. I would go see a doctor and see what they recommend maybe you will be entitled to a Medicare rebate. I've also been considering getting one the past few years, my asymetry is a lot worse after kids and I hate it. Good luck.
I would love to have it done. I worked with a lady who had it done in Sydney, but hers went wrong. The site got some sort of infection and over a year she had more and more surgery and now has no labia minora. That has scared me
