I tested positive to HPV Herpes 2, even though I have never in my life had an outbreak and when I tested positive 10 months ago I still haven't had an outbreak, I have not been tested again recently since being pregnant I just advised them I had a positive test 10 months ago in May 2015. I have heard really terrible and bad things with having it whilst your pregnant? I am 36 weeks. I just want some opinions on this topic please and if anyone has it?

My auntie had her last two kids with HPV2. The risk comes during delivery IF you have a breakout, as the baby can catch it travelling through the birth canal (if you have a breakout). So doctors may advise a c-section if you did happen to have a breakout.
The number of children who contract hpv during labour are really small, less that 0.1% in the US. Despite the number of women who have hpv being quite high.
Lots of people have it and don't know it, but knowing before you got pregnant is a bonus. As it can be kept an eye on closer to delivery dates. If you didn't know and had an outbreak during delivery and doctors didn't know to look out for it etc....
Both my aunties children had no infection and were born naturally.
Yes talk to your GP about if there are ways you can lesson your chances of an outbreak etc. but otherwise nothing to worry about :)
I have HSV2 (herpes simplex virus) and i birthed 2 children naturally without issues. Unless an outbreak is present at the time of labour then natural birth is completely ok to go ahead with. Its very rare to pass it onto baby. I started a medication prescribed by the midwife at 36weeks both pregnancies to prevent an outbreak in the birth canal. Definitely worth asking.
