Tubal Ligation

Tubal Ligation

Hi Mummas. I am currently pregnant with #3, and booked in to have a c-section soon (medically needed). I feel my family is complete now. I have started thinking about getting my tubes tied during the c-section surgery. I have spoken to my Doctor about this also.
I am wanting to hear experiences from people that have had this procedure done. Any side effects you weren't aware of / didn't expect, recovery, did you regret / love your decision.
Thanks!! :-)

With my 3rd i had a section and was seriously thinking of doing tubes at the same time. But my grandmother had it done ans had some really bad side effects which put me off. Hubby ended up getting the snip instead.

I had mine done with my 3rd child 2 c-section. The recovery was the most painful part. I recovered really well from my first c-section but not from my c-section/tubal ligation. Plus I regret having it done. Worst decision I could have ever made. I'm looking at a reversal. Do some sort of counselling before you get it done. Really talk it over with your hubby and if you can convince him to get the snip instead he'd be better off getting that done. My periods are heavier and were more painful in the first 12 months after having it done.

i had mine done when my youngest was about 14 months old. from a contraceptive perspective i dont regret it. however, my periods got out of control. they were insanely heavy to the point where i was having to shower in the middle of the night etc.. i ended up having to get the mirena to get my periods back under control. I also suffered from a massive internal infection and cellulitis on the lower half of my tummy and spent bout 5 days back in hospital with IV antibiotics.
