Hi, long story short- separted from ex husband it's been 1.5 years. I have debit I can't afford. Wanting to do bankruptcy and start clean! who do I contact for this. I'm located in Brisbane, if that helps. Any special consideration if needing to travel outside Australia for family? Anyone been though this please comment would love to hear how you did it

Get legal advice regarding divorce including the issue around debt. It might be if you accumulated this debt before you separated the debt might be halved. Might not be but worth investigating.

Anything those "debt control" business do, you can do yourself FOR FREE. It's a legal requirement for companies to assist you in making payment negotiations. This includes banks for your mortgage, electricity, phones etc.
Call each of the companies and ask to speak to the department that deals with financial hardship arrangements. They will help you negotiate payment schedules (try and have a number in mind - even if it's $50 a fortnight).
