Hi all, I am after your Pre-term labour experience please. I went into labour at 34 weeks. The doctors managed to stop it, I had my steroid injections, anti D etc and all seemed to be fine for a couple of days. Then the contractions started again. The hospital told me to time them as they got closer/stronger and to head up if I was having 2-3 in the space of 10 minutes or if I had any loss of fluid or blood. They didn't get that close but some were intense where I had to stop and breathe through them. This is now happening every single day. I'm now 37+3 weeks and from the minute I wake up until anywhere up to midnight/1am, I'm dealing with these irregular (sometime they get down to 5 mins apart but then just as I start timing they fizzle out and go back to 30 mins) random contractions. I'm exhausted, I'm living off 2-3 hours sleep at night. I have a 3 yr old and an 18 month old. So my energy levels need to be high but I just feel like crap all day every day. My first two kids were c-sections so I've never experienced anything like this in my life (I didn't even know I was in labour the first time until my mum told me to get checked out cause she could see how much pain I was in - turned out I was dilating and they weren't just Braxton hicks) - I really am just ignorant when it comes to labour because I've never experienced it. I just don't know if I'm being a sook or is this normal after being in labour early and having it stopped. Seriously I just want to go to the hospital and beg and plead with them until they get this baby out. I guess I'm just after experiences as to anyone who's been in this sort of situation - did you have this right up until the baby was born, did you go early again. Is it even "normal" what I'm experiencing?? Thanks ladies, from one very exhausted and sore mumma xxx

I'd be going in and asking for admission. You must be exhausted! It doesn't sound 'normal' but then what's 'normal' for one is not for another... Even if they don't induce you (your baby will thrive at 37+ weeks - they say 36 weeks is fine) you need some rest. Bed rest. Life is going to be hectic with 3 littlies and every bit of help you can get now while your body is stressed will help down the track. Down to the hospital you go... Good luck mumma :)
At the very least talk to your GP but I'd go back to the hospital.
I had irregular contractions all day every day for the last month of my pregnancy and ended up overdue! It's exhausting I know. Do you have help with the kids while you catch up on sleep? At least take a nap when they nap. It will all be over soon!
Yes I believe what your experiencing to be considered normal. Just your body preparing you for what's to come.
And my bub did end up coming early anyway.
Yup had exactly the same thing with baby no. 3 after having 2 c-sections. Started at 35 weeks & my waters ended up breaking at home one night & bun was born at 37weeks 5 days. I was told I had an irritable uterus hence all the pains which were exactly like contractions. I had 2 emergency c-sections so did have labour with both those. Are they booking you in for a c-section? They had me booked in for 38 weeks but I didn't make it that long.
