So its very hard to write this so please be kind.
I have been single for two years, surviving on my own with my two children. At the start of the year the ex left bruises on my neck. I didnt report it as he is a professional mma fighter and didnt want to ruin his career (as he would take it out on me). Since then the dv has gotten worse. The time i did report it to the police i was told as there were no marks nothing he could do.
As there were no orders in place he took the kids from me and wouldnt give them back.
I had to sell my house to get a lawyer to fight for my kids back. I moved in with friends and i pay half the rent (350 a week) this was meant to be till next year. Went to court recently to get them back and as i work full time i could only have them on weekend.
So i have to reapply for ftb even though the ex signed the form they still need to wait 2 weeks.
Even though i work once the rent is paid and i pay bills, i have 20 left to my name to buy food for when i have the kids (i dont eat except at work, they supply lunch).
I have called various large charity organisations to see if they can help but as im not getting any benefits they cant help (thats what they tell me).
Part of the interim orders are that i need to be in my own place so i am also trying to save so i can get bond to get my kids back more.
Can anyone suggest other places that might help me?

You may need to move. $350 at half the rent is insane! Why isn't it divided by the people living there? Depending on where you are there are charity type groups that do low cost food hampers. A few I have heard of are Tribe of Judah, Lighthouse and Loaves and Fishes. Google your area and the words "food hampers" and you should see the nearest ones to you. Good luck.
You pay half of the rent & that's $350 per week?! That's absolutely ridiculous!! I'd be moving ASAP! Look in the local news paper for rooms ect to rent. You're not going to get ahead paying that... I honestly think these 'so called friends" are ripping you off
