Passing out while pregnant

Passing out while pregnant

I am 18 weeks pregnant and I have now passed out and been unconscious 6 times since I've been pregnant and have heart palpitations quite often all in the space of two months.. My blood pressure is up and down and my pulse and heart rate is irregular majority of the time.
I have been to the hospital twice and had tests done and was just told it's normal and they brushed me off and sent me home after being there for a couple hours.
Has anybody had the same thing and had a different conclusion or is it just normal?
Thanks in advance!

It can be normal but definitely follow up with your regular doctor. Make sure you are taking it easy. In 'the olden days' passing out was considered a first sign of pregnancy.

its likely the blood pressure causing the black outs best person to see is your doctor.

for me it is normal during pregnancy it actually really shits me when people call an ambulance when I black out

I had this as well, once and it freaked me out as i have never in my life passed out before. I was told to get Iron with Folic C tablets as it could be my iron levels dropping and to include a healthy amount of salt in my diet (I am not one to add salt to things). Do consult your doctor first and ask for a blood test to check your iron levels. Good luck and take it easy.

I would feel faint with my 2nd pregnancy. Never actually blacked out completely but my vision would start to go black and I knew if I didn't lay down right there and then I surely I would have. My 2nd trimester test results came back that I was borderline anemic (which my Doctor attributed it to) but even after religiously remembering to take my iron pills and my bloods returning to normal it was still happening. I eventually figured out it only happened if I'd allowed myself to get hungry! So I made sure I ate small amounts more frequently instead of my usual 3 bigger meals and my dizzy spells disappeared

I've had similar during my pregnancy where I've lost my balance and felt dizzy, ready to pass out. But luckily I haven't actually passed out/ fainted. The cause of mine is low blood pressure and I was advised to snack through the day a little more regularly to keep my blood sugars up and drink plenty of fluids ms now control it. Maybe this is happening to you when your blood pressure drops too? Check with your midwife and obs though, they can order tests if they are concerned.
