3 year old still needs milk for sleep

I have a 3 and half year old who still needs bottles of milk to go to sleep, he actually has to have it to fall asleep will lay in bed and drink it and sleep half way through. Some nights though he needs up to 2 bottles. He is drinking Rice and almond milk so he is no going crazy on the cows milk but I am about to have another baby and couldn't bear the thought of weaning him with 2 weeks to go until a newborn is in the pic. Does anyone have any mild approaches to weaning an older child off milk for sleeping? Thanks!!

I've heard of slowly adding more n more water till over a period of time its just water.
my girl drink up to 1.5 liters of almond milk a day, 2 year ok, (due to allergies) I know how expensive it is. But I'd wait if possible until u all settle with new bub.
